If you need food resources and other aid, you are not alone. Millions of households experience food insecurity, which means they are unsure if they will have enough food because of lack of money or resources. Every county in every state in the U.S. is home to people facing food insecurity, including more than 12 million people age 60 and over1. Food banks, food pantries, and meal programs

Feeding America – Find your local food bank by zip code or state. Feeding America can help you find several kinds of free food and food resources, from mobile pantries to school lunch programs. Learn about their programs.

Findhelp’s mission is to connect all people and the programs that serve them with dignity and ease. Tips for finding resources

Services like 211.org and FindHelp.org can be great places to start to look for a variety of resources.

Doing your own search online for resources can also be helpful, especially if you know what words to search for. Here are tips to find resources and programs by searching the internet and social media apps.

  • Search for terms like: community care, free food, food resources, mutual aid, food security, food banks, food emergency, pet food banks.
  • Add your local city or town name to the search. For example: community care Atlanta, food resources San Diego.
  • Add words like “church” or “center” or “network” to your search. For example: Arlington church food programs, Tacoma food emergency center.
  • Search for food pantry delivery, free meals, or senior meal delivery + your local area to find services unique to your area.
  • Search for local city, county, and state government-led programs for food assistance and resources. These programs vary by state and city.
